Shoot the Breeze Disc Golf Club announces our annual Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) sanctioned event - The Shoot the Breeze Open. This is a two-day disc golf tournament at Lake Shore Park in Ashtabula, Ohio. In addition to being PDGA sanctioned, The Shoot the Breeze Open has also affiliated itself with the Can-Am series, the oldest disc golf series in existence, with 20 years of disc golf tournaments in the Great Lakes region of Canada and the US. Our expected field of 90 professional and amateur disc golfers could make this the biggest disc golf event ever at Lake Shore Park. You can promote your business or group while helping to advance this new sport. We are offering two levels of tournament sponsorship. Tournament Sponsor: This level will get your business or groups name on all tournament print (includes flyers, the scorecard, and posters), a mention on the tournament website, and the opportunity to offer coupons to all tournament participants in a players package. Local lodging establishments could also offer a "Tournament Rate" which would be advertised to the participants. This level of sponsorship is only $100 cash or equivalent merchandise. Major Sponsor: This level offers all the same benefits as the Tournament Sponsor, with significant added benefits. As the Major Sponsor (there will only be one), you would get title mention on all Print, website and media information, as the tournament name will now include your business or group. (e.g. The XYZ Corporation Shoot the Breeze Open.) An added incentive provided by Shoot the Breeze Disc Golf club is a full tee sign sponsorship for 2004 (a $500 value). This level of sponsorship is only $750 cash or equivalent merchandise. CTP Sponsor:
We are currently looking for
yearly STB Tee Sign Sponsors. Dear Community Leader,
Although you may not have heard
of disc golf, it has been around for more than twenty years and is gaining
popularity all across the US, and even globally. It is a game played like
golf, only using a flying disc (like a Frisbee™) and above ground targets.
It is a family style recreation, with over 1500 permanent courses in the US (28 in Ohio) and
over 1,000 courses worldwide. There are about 175,000 people that regularly
enjoy this game, and over 3 million have tried it. The courses are
generally in public parks, and are usually free to play. Participants just
follow tee signs through the park with their flying disc in hand.
Currently the closest permanent disc golf course to Ashtabula is in
Clarence Darrow Park in Champion, OH. Our members have been working about
three years, trying to promote disc golf to local parks. We formalized our
club in the fall of 1999, and we have signed a contract with Lake Shore
Park to place a course in the park for the second year in a row. A full Year Tee Sign Sponsorship example:
